FAQ

Below are answers to some frequently asked questions about bookings, trials, and wedding day makeup.

I open my diary 18 months in advance. I do encourage you to book sooner rather than later for two reasons:

1) the sooner you get into contact, the more likely I am to be available;

2) I adjust my prices year-on-year in line with inflation so if you book now you will be charged this year’s prices rather than next year’s prices (or the year after’s!) so you’re essentially getting an early-bird discount!

I can do up to 5 bridal party members comfortably on my own. Any more and I would need to bring an assistant.

Sadly, I don’t at this time, but I can recommend some excellent hair stylists.

Of course! I pride myself on being an inclusive makeup artist. I have experience in working on all ethnicities and races. As a woman of colour myself, I completely understand that different races have different undertones, overtones, skintones and facial features and I adapt the products I use and techniques I use accordingly.

Of course. I provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive experience for all clients. My approach is always tailored to you, ensuring you feel comfortable, confident and fully yourself.

I recommend wearing a top that is similar in colour and neckline to your wedding dress/outfit you’re planning to wear on your wedding day.

I would also suggest bringing any accessories you’re planning to wear on the day, so we can put everything together and see how all the different elements will come together.

Additionally, I suggest you wear your hair to the trial the way you’re planning to have your hair on your wedding day.

I’m perfectly happy for a supportive friend/family member to come along to the trial but I would limit this to one person, as too many opinions can be confusing.

I would also advise against this one person being your fiancé (so it can be a nice surprise on the day!). If you are bringing a person, bear in mind that the trial will be for the bride only!

Additionally, please do not bring your own foundation because if you have multiple different shades across your face, I will use multiple foundation shades rather than just using the one.

I’ve also had brides bring me foundation that is expired, has been contaminated by bacteria and/or no longer matches their skintone (e.g. because they now have a tan).

Sometimes, some brides don’t have a perfect foundation match in any foundation and for these clients I will mix foundations and blue/green colour correctors to achieve their perfect skintone match.

Bridesmaid makeup is thoughtfully designed to create a cohesive, polished look across your bridal party, enhancing each bridesmaid’s features while ensuring a harmonious overall finish.

This approach keeps your morning running smoothly and ensures your bridal party looks beautifully consistent in person and in photographs.

For those who prefer a more personalised style, doing their own makeup may be the better option.

Bridesmaids do not get sent a discovery questionnaire or a trial as part of any of my packages. This is why bridesmaids rates are cheaper than bridal rates.

Please note that bridesmaids’ makeup application will be treated like a general event makeup application where consultation takes place on the day of makeup application and will be generalised makeup application rather than specific, personalised makeup application like bridal makeup is (although bridesmaids are more than welcome to send an inspo pic and communicate any allergies/skin concerns).

I only recommend booking services for bridesmaids if they are relaxed and not too specific about how they like their makeup.

If you do wish to book services for bridesmaids and they are specific about their makeup requests and therefore do wish to have a discovery questionnaire and a trial etc, then this will be charged at the bridal rate of £200.

Your bridal trial will take place in my home studio in Stourbridge. The full address will be provided upon paying the deposit.

Please be aware that I live with a dog, so if you have any issues with dogs, please let me know as soon as possible before the trial.

I specialise in soft glam makeup (i.e. neither ‘too natural’ nor ‘too glam’).

By ‘too natural’, I mean, if your inspo is Hailey Bieber’s everyday makeup or Sofia Richie’s wedding makeup, then I’m probably not the makeup artist for you. By ‘too glam’, I’m referring to celebrities like Kim Kardashian.

A celebrity who really embraces the ‘soft glam’ makeup style is Shay Mitchell, so if this is the vibe you’re after, then we would make a good fit.

I consider myself a mid-budget range makeup artist and therefore I carry a mix of luxury and drugstore brands.

Some of the brands you can find in my kit include: Charlotte Tilbury, P Louise, Elf, Huda Beauty, Jordana Ticia, and Rare Beauty.
